Faucet & Fixture Installation

Kitchen, Bath, and Outdoor Fixtures Done Right

Replacing a faucet sounds straightforward, until you discover the supply lines are corroded, the shutoff valves don’t actually shut off, the deck holes don’t match the new fixture, and the old fixture is held in by 30 years of mineral buildup. Doro Plumbing handles the whole project: removal of the old fixture, replacement of supply lines and shutoffs as needed, proper installation of the new fixture, and leak testing before we leave.

What We Install

Kitchen faucets – single-handle, dual-handle, pull-down, pull-out, touchless, pot fillers, and bar/prep sink faucets. We handle the full range from basic builder-grade replacements to high-end designer models.

Bathroom faucets – widespread, centerset, single-hole, vessel sink, wall-mount. Lavatory, vanity, and powder room.

Tub and shower fixtures – single-handle pressure-balanced valves, thermostatic valves, multi-head shower systems, rain heads, hand-held diverters. Includes valve replacement which requires opening the wall and is not a DIY job.

Outdoor fixtures – frost-free hose bibs, sillcocks, outdoor showers, hose reels and quick-connects.

Specialty fixtures – laundry tub faucets, utility sink faucets, garage sink faucets, water filling stations.

Why Pro Install Matters

A few things go wrong on DIY faucet installs that we see all the time:

We handle all of this as part of the install. We also catch and replace failing shutoff valves while we have the area open, which prevents a future emergency.

Picking the Right Fixture

A few practical guidelines:

Quality matters more than style. A quality faucet from Moen, Delta, or Kohler will outlast multiple cheaper alternatives and they all carry lifetime warranties on cartridges. Off-brand fixtures from big-box stores often have proprietary cartridges that disappear in 5 years, leaving you no repair options.

Match the configuration. Your sink has 1, 3, or 4 holes. Pick a faucet that fits or be prepared to replace the sink (or use a deck plate to cover unused holes).

Pull-down vs pull-out. For deep kitchen sinks, pull-down sprays better. For shallow apron-front sinks, pull-out is sometimes more practical.

Touchless faucets are great for kitchens where you’re often handling raw food, but check the warranty on the electronics specifically (they fail more often than the mechanical parts).

Tub/shower valve replacement is a different beast from a basic faucet swap. Pressure-balanced valves are now code-required in Wisconsin (have been for decades). If you’re replacing valve trim only, that’s a basic job. If the underlying valve needs replacement, we open the wall, swap the valve, and patch in.

We’re happy to recommend specific fixtures based on your style and budget. We can also pick them up for you and you’ll often pay less through us than at retail.
